Installation

Installing Arclight is simple. If you have experience with Spigot/Paper servers, installing Arclight is same.

Install Java

Java is the software that runs Arclight. We would recommend Zulu JDK, which can be found at https://www.azul.com/downloads/#zulu.

Java versions that Arclight requires:

  • Minecraft 1.18 and later: Java 17

  • Minecraft 1.17~: Java 16 - 17

  • Minecraft 1.16: Java 8 - 17

Get Arclight

Arclight can be found at https://arclight.izzel.io/.

Launch Arclight

Starting Arclight server is same as if you are starting a Spigot server:

java -jar arclight-forge.jar

Arclight on Forge and NeoForge may generate files named run.sh and run.bat. These files are for starting a clean Forge/NeoForge server. You should stick to the command above.

You can add Aikar Flags to your JVM arguments for better performance.

Launch with Docker

If you have Docker installed, starting a server would be easier:

docker run -it -v .:/app -w /app -p 25565:25565 --rm azul/zulu-openjdk:17 \
  java -jar arclight-forge.jar

Install through server hosting services

Server hosting services like BisectHosting or Aternos allows you to install Arclight servers ready to play in several mouse clicks.

For BisectHosting, you can find Arclight under “Forge with plugins“ or “Fabric with plugins“.

For Aternos, you can easily find Arclight during the setup process.

You can get 25% off at BisectHosting with the promocode arclight.
